Griffon Forest is a lodge park with an unusually delightful selection of facilities you wouldn't normally associate with lodge parks. It also happens to be situated amidst some of the most glorious rural territory in the north of Britain.
Each and every lodge boasts a private hot tub, which kind of gives you an idea of the level of lavishness you can expect from this joint. Others come with a 6 foot wide Jacuzzi, spa bath and four poster bed, so long as you don't mind 'splashing out' a little extra. Others have an oak canopy bed that will make you extremely cosy and give you that true rustic feel as you slowly nod off to sleep after a long day exploring the Garden of England. The Poacher's Premier property is renowned as the forest's finest accommodation option. We would have to agree.
Griffon Forest is ideally placed for woodland walks and country explorations. Helpful staff are happy to guide you around and give you the lowdown on the best local rambles and scenery. A truly unique touch is the way that the Griffon Wild Watch cameras capture all the flora and fauna action and beam it directly to your lodge's TV.
Alternatively you can walk up the lantern-lit pathway to Tyke's, a gourmet restaurant that gives all guests 10% discount. A sports bar with Wi-fi access helps you keep up to date with all the latest sports and day kennels mean that dog owners and their furry little charges are absolutely welcome here.
A little further on is the remarkable Sandburn Hall, something of a Yorkshire golf Mecca what with its 18 hole course, training academy and driving range. If you have a golfer in your family you won't see them all holiday! A fly fishing lake is also great fun for beginners or experts alike and the network of trails and walks has to be seen to be believed. Heritage-heavy York city is just a short drive away, but it's unlikely you'll even want to leave Griffon Forest!
