White Cross Bay is located in the middle of the popular Lake District. The park boasts sixty acres of wooded parkland which stretches to the shores of Lake Windermere. The natural scenery is perfect for climbing, fishing, sailing, boating, or walking. White Cross Bay offers guests many facilities such as a heated, indoor pool, a gym, and a pool table. There is a children’s playground, a sauna for relaxation, as well as a modern clubhouse bar and restaurant.

The Lake District offers guests some of the most pleasant and enjoyable holidays, full of natural attractions and scenery spanning forty by thirty miles. One of these attractions is Muncaster Castle. Muncaster Castle is fun and quick day trip adventure. It is placed between the Lake District Fells and the Irish Sea. The castle sits atop the most dramatic and remote locations in Europe. There are soaring mountains and ancient woodlands which serve as home to the Pennington Family.

The castle has been a place of residence for this family since 1208. The castle is allegedly haunted by ghosts including Tom Fool. Inexplicable events have taken place around the Tapestry Room. The area is covered with rhododendrons and the Himalayan Gardens offer oriental species of plants and flowers which are very rare. There are owls surrounding the castle at night. The castle serves as the headquarters for the World Owl Trust. This charitable organisation houses the largest owl collection in existence. There are diminutive pygmy owls, red kites, buzzards, fish owls, and kestrels on display each day.

Muncaster Castle is home to the indoor MeadowVole Maze. This maze requires visitors to crouch to two and a half feet and try to crawl through the maze, helping Max the MeadowVole make his way to safety. Kids of all ages will enjoy this amusement. There is Creeping Kate’s Kitchen for any light refreshments or full meals during your visit. There is a computer suite and a playground for kids as well.

Throughout the year there are many events hosted at Muncaster Castle including the Festival of Fools which is held in late May. During the month of August there is the Summer of Fun festival every day. During October, visitors can enjoy the scary Halloween week. In December, Muncaster Castle hosts a festive Christmas.
