The two principle floors are open to the public while the family resides in the older part of the home. There are over twenty five acres of gardens which boast Victorian character.
The natural Lake District parkland was planted by Lord George Cavendish to include a conservatory, an arboretum, a large walled kitchen garden, and balustraded terraces near the house. The estate covers the span of seventeen thousand acres which consist mostly of livestock farms.
